Peter Jackson seems to be a top director these days. Would rather see him doing some gore movies but that doesn't look likely anymore. Another Frighteners could be neat though

With Universal releasing Peter Jackson's The Frighteners director's cut on DVD, some interviews surrounding the release have started to pop up online- and one indicates that Jackson wants to direct to a sequel! Read on for the skinny. In the 1996 film a psychic private detective who consorts with deceased souls becomes engaged in a mystery as members of the town community begin dying mysteriously. While investigating, he is aided by a friendly doctor who believes in his psychic abilities and is hindered by a crazed G-Man, a woman involved in an old serial killing, and what may be the spirit of Death itself...
CanMag.com reports that Peter Jackson (King Kong, Lord of the Rings) is keen to do a sequel to his 1996 film THE FRIGHTENERS which starred Michael J.Fox as a Ghostbuster-type. (I think it lasted in the cinema about one week from memory!)
According to Jackson, he?s hoping the DVD sells ?in droves? because he?d love to do a sequel. He said that DVD sales are really what it?s all about these days ? and if this new version makes a hefty sum on DVD, he?ll try and convince Universal to take a chance on another ?Frighteners?. He said he?d love to have Michael J.Fox back ? if even only for a small role.
