14.03.08 - Suspira Remake news
David Gordon Green

This poor guy will probably end up being the centre of continued hatred for the rest of his career Laughing
Quote:
SUSPIRIA remake: David Gordon Green may direct the American redux of Dario Argento's Italian horror classic, according to MTV. Currently in theaters with SNOW ANGELS, the filmmaker, who previously explored spooky territory with 2004's Southern Gothic thriller UNDERTOW, told the site that he has already completed a script and hopes to take the reins of the new SUSPIRIA. “No, it doesn’t make a lick of sense,” he tells the site of his attachment to the project. “But it’s wicked. I love it, plot holes and everything. SUSPIRIA is a classic for me. I want to be scared. I want to be afraid.”

Green hopes to make his own mark on the story of a young student (played in the original by Jessica Harper) who arrives at a European dance academy and discovers that it's a hotbed of witchcraft and bloody murder. “It’s an opportunity to take all artistic excellence and be inspired by what was a low-budget Italian '70s gore movie,” he says. “Where the art world meets the violent and supernatural. I would love to get every geek that loves torture porn and every old lady in line to see PHANTOM OF THE OPERA to come and have this insane experience.” Right... (thanks to Fangoria.com)
