27.11.08 - Buffy movie?
Small fry rumour mill perhaps, but interesting rumour nether-the-less.

Angel, at least plotwise would make a lot more sense, since that series ended in the middle of the apocalypse; whilst buffy had finished with the destruction of sunnydale.

We'll see...

Our good friends over at Moviehole.net discovered the following in the Herald-Sun Newspaper:

"The monster success of girly vampire pic Twilight at the US Box office last weekend could kick open the door for a big-screen return of Joss Whedon’s much-loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Rumours are circulating in Hollywood that Whedon has a feature-film script based on his hit TV series ready to roll as soon as a studio is prepared to commit. The Buffy concept was first unveiled as a movie in 1992 with long-forgotten Kristy Swanson in the title role."

Yeah, BUFFY was played out before the show even ended. I mean, when your major plot device revolves around hate sex between the slayer and spike, I think it's time to hang up the stake. This might explain it: I think BUFFY is the only one of the two with a regular comic series. Although there's also something called ANGEL AFTER THE FALL circulating in TPB now, so who the heck knows?

Sounds like it got a spinoff from the mini-series so did quite well.
