This is a month old, but i just spotted it so I'm spreading the news. Stan Winston is "da man" (as they say in the "east side" of Calderdale), but I still reserve all judgement given how crappy these plots are treated by hollwood studios

Hold your horses for a moment and read on, for this might not be just your average adaptation, and let's face it to date they've not been good have they? Coming Soon bring us the news that the videogame The Suffering has had the movie rights purchased by MTV Films, a good sign perhaps?
MTV is working with Stan Winston and Brian Gilbert from Stan Winston Productions and Jason Lust and Rick Jacobs from Circle of Confusion on development of The Suffering as a feature project.
The story takes place on an island off the cost of Maryland which was once an Asylum, then used by the Army during World War II, and now a Penetentiary that holds the State executions. It's old, the inmates are pretty wild and riot regularly, and there are some more than mysterious goings on.
From what I've seen it's much like Resident Evil style, where everything starts going quite odd and you're attacked by bizarre creatures in a slightly odd reality.
Are you a player, can you shed more light on the story without spoilers? What are your views on the adaptation, a good choice of source material and is the fact that MTV and Stan Winston are involved a good sign?
