Fanomenon Day of the Dead 4 is the flipside to our gore-filled Night of the Dead, offering the North’s darkest and scariest genre experience with selections and exclusives from the vast universe of the horror genre, and features more special guest appearances, extended on stage interviews and an outstanding shorts programme. Horror fans can enjoy some of the year’s most talked about films at Day of the Dead in the magnificent settings of Leeds Town Hall, transformed for LIFF 2010 with a giant new cinema screen and full surround sound in the stalls and balcony.
The event opens with the UK premiere of terrifying Spanish home invasion shocker Kidnapped and closes with new British zombie film The Dead from brothers Howard and Jon Ford, set in the stunning landscape of Africa. In between we present The Last Employee (another UK premiere), an unnerving creepfest from Germany and Rare Exports (in the first UK screening outside London) which will expose the shocking real truth about Santa Claus. Finally Simon Rumley (The Living and the Dead, LIFF 2006 and Sliver Méliès jury member 2009) returns to present his brutal and harrowing tale of the American dream gone wrong in Red, White and Blue. Add in the best new European genre shorts we could find and a host of guests and you can be sure this is going to be a day not to be missed.
