At the same time, a seismologist is working in the area, she detects _tremors_. The creature lives underground, and can 'pop up' without warning. Trapped in their town, the town-folk have no escape.
Val and Earl plan to put behind their days as handymen in a small dustbowl town called Perfection. Before they can get to civilization though, they encounter numerous victims of monsters that burrow through the ground. Comments:
A truely great film. It promises very little, but delivers the very best 50s monster invasion movie I've seen to date (even though its not even made in the 50s of course).
The SFX are superb (baring the occasional its a sock puppet bits), and actually put the CGI heavy latter parts to shame.
Story and acting are both top notch, the plot is very simple, but this doesn't matter since the film is so well made! Highly recommended. Try the sequels and the tv series too, you'll realise why the franchise continued after seeing this one!
This rip is very poor and does not do the film justice!
