Comment Without a shadow of a doubt, John Carpenter's best amongst fans, whilst Halloween gets all the spotlight in the critical review sites, however, this title is much more deserving.
This film, to many, represents one of the last great 'hands on' special effects movies, its beyond effective... whilst towards the end of the 80s, sfx turned towards the less effective computer generated field, here we see the perfection of hands on.
As far as this being a remake goes, its a perfect remake, surpassing the original in every way, and it does this by just taking the basic plot and then doing its own thing.
